1 in 8 and 1 in 4. Two Causes. One Goal: Awareness.

We're all at-risk of being that one woman.

Breast Cancer (1 in 8) and Domestic Violence (1 in 4) are pandemics that affect women (and men) across all socio-economic demographics.

Although October has been designated for raising awareness about statistics, research, legislature, prevention, and cure, Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence are equally detrimental to someONE's overall well-being EVERYDAY! However, this is a time to focus attention and actively heighten awareness, build on previous and present dialogues, and create new collaborative and purposeful opportunities that would hopefully result in solutions for treatment, support, prevention, and cure of Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence.

What we do as individuals and or teams to keep both Causes and the need for support, cure, and prevention in the spotlight, could save many lives and empower others to seek help to save themselves. No act of awareness is too small, or insignificant. Though, doing nothing, relays a message of apathy until it happens to us. 2 (causes) + 1 (awareness) = 3 (You!)

Please don't wait for the affliction of sickness and or abuse before realizing that 1 in 8 and 1 in 4 INCLUDES you too!

Oh, and by the way, I have a titanium marker in my left breast and I left so my daughter doesn't grow up in a home thinking violence is the only solution to social conflict.
