Water.

Inspiration for inaugural post: Water. It “is vital for ALL known forms of life.”
When I speak and write, I want to be clear like water. I want to stand by my words and say what I mean and mean what I say. I won’t make excuses for my shortcomings, yet I will accept failures as lessons and build on them and not allow them to weaken and break my spirit.
I have learned very early on in life to own my mistakes, which reminds me that I was born a human not perfect. I am at peace with eccentric qualities that make me me. Love me. Dislike me. Envy me. Even hate me. Still, I am who I am. I am going to be who I’m going to be. Therefore, I will speak freely as I tread the undercurrents of life's social drama and celebrate the rainbow of triumphs. I don't seek validation, because I am self aware. I only want to be heard.
My first picture post is a rainbow over calm water. I captured the color spectrum at one of the most challenging times in my adult life. The serenity enabled me to see a positive during a painfully confusing and trying time. Everyday I am thankful that a life raft found me and saved me from drowning on dry land. I am a domestic violence survivor, 6 years removed and counting!

The picture was taking at Wollaston Beach in Quincy, MA, on May 29, 2010, a day that I vowed to create the peace that I want to experience within, to be unapologetically me and to allow my spirit to flow like a river that never ends.
